Li Da, born in 1955 in Putian, Fujian Province, is a Chinese ceramic art master in the field of contemporary Jianzhan art and is known as a leading figure in the Jianzhan industry. He has long been committed to the firing techniques and theoretical research of Jianzhan, and has made pioneering contributions in the new fields of ceramic science and art. Â
In terms of firing techniques, Li Da successfully replicated the lost seven hundred year old Partridge Spotted Pot, restoring this precious cultural heritage. His works are most prominent in the form of partridge spots, which present a three-dimensional crystalline effect with metallic luster and colorful halos. Under specific conditions, optical phenomena such as colorful bubbles can be seen. The process adopts electric firing technology and undergoes strong reduction reaction at high temperatures above 1350 ℃.
